The Vanitha College forms part of the educational complex being run by Al Islam Charitable Trust, a philanthropic non-profitable service organization, dedicated to the cause of uplift of the poor and downtrodden in the society. The college was established with a view to provide an ideal educational environment to the young and indigent women of the locality bereft of any hope for higher education and to facilitate an all round development in their physical, mental, intellectual and spiritual realms.

The habitat of these institutions is a beautiful and salubrious natural setting in 40 acres of land. Against the backdrop of the scenic western Ghats and the lush mango groves and coconut palms, this college rises high as an ideal centre of learning for women.

The Vanitha College, with its inception in 1988, had provisions for only a small number of girl students, of whom some were given residential facilities. Gradually, the enrolment soared new heights, as the girls found it a haven of peace and tranquillity conducive for dedicated work.
